Born from lived experience and deep awareness of social inequality and environmental injustice, LiquidGold was founded with a powerful mission: to disrupt the broken systems of sanitation and waste management that continue to fail underserved communities, and in doing so, regenerate our planet through bold circular innovation.

We’re on a bold path to scale our impact across Southern Africa — providing 1million households with clean, off-grid sanitation, diverting 150 thousands of tonnes of waste from the environment per year, and turning it into climate-smart agricultural inputs.

A Purpose-Driven Circular Model
Our approach is rooted in circular economy principles that connect sanitation, organic waste, and agriculture into one regenerative loop. Using nature-based technology — including urine-diverting, waterless toilets, thermophilic composting, and Black Soldier Fly (BSF) bioconversion — we transform human and organic waste into nutrient-rich fertilizers, protein animal feed, and organic compost.
These are not just by-products — they are climate solutions, restoring soil health, reducing emissions, and building resilient local economies.
We proudly serve informal settlements, peri-urban townships, and underserved agricultural communities, where access to clean sanitation and effective waste management can be the difference between dignity and despair.
Social Innovation for Climate Justice
Our work addresses the intersection of climate change, health equity, and economic justice. Each system we deploy:
- Eliminates waste from water systems and landfills
- Reduces carbon and methane emissions from open defecation and organic dumping
- Creates green jobs in the very communities we serve

We are a passionate, multi-disciplinary team of engineers, environmental scientists, social entrepreneurs, and grassroots leaders. We don’t just work in underserved communities — we come from them, understand them, and are deeply committed to ensuring they thrive.
With backgrounds spanning climate tech, agriculture, public health, and urban development, our team is united by a shared belief: regeneration is not just possible — it’s necessary.
